Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Chip
Chip

Chip is doing great. He has become a central part of the family. He loves his lab friend Sadie and is getting to better understand the family cat Bella. He loves all our kids and has learned the order that they wake up for school in the morning. He waits at each door for me to let him in to get them up. He is doing well with the potty training and enjoys his crate to sleep in. He has a constant companion in my 5 yr. old who enjoys being his buddy. He just got his 3rd round of puppy shots. He will get his last round and rabies shot in 3 weeks. The vet did discover that he has an umbilical hernia. He said it wasn't an emergency to fix it. It would have been more convenient to do it when he was neutered. But that was already done, so I will wait a few months before putting him through another surgery. Thank you so much for all your rescue center does to help animals. I am also thankful for your foster mom Shelley Eramo who gave Chip lots of love and helped him to trust and become such a wonderful family pet. We are truly blessed to get to share our lives with little Chip.

Licorice
Licorice

Mel (Licorice) is doing great!! We named him Mel because he so laid back and mellow, thought the name fit him well He has been a wonderful addition to our family and he is very spoiled, sleeps head to head with me every night. Sincerely, Lori Virtue

Peaches
Peaches

Hi Kathy - Peaches, today her name is Zoom, is doing very good and adjusting wonderfully with Bella, my five year old dog. She's double the size and she is eighteen pounds. Well she is still in training, and made some mistakes inside the house, but it is the process of she needs to go. She is very sweet and hyper but she is only 3 months old. I wish I had the same energy she has in my age. Eliana Anderson

Pumpkin

This is pumpkin in her 3rd month. I'm very happy to have her. Bruno

Petunia

Hi, Petunia is now HoneyBun. We've been keeping in touch with foster lady, Robin Chaplin on a regular basis, including latest photos. Honeybun visit the Vet in River Bridge as referred by A Second Chance. Her next appointment is next Saturday for a 2nd set of shots. HoneyBun has a friend, same sex, same age, different breed, named Coco. They play well together, eat together and sleep in the same bed. Everything is going well!
