Animal Success Stories
As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story! Success Stories and pictures can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.

I just wanted to quickly share Hushpuppy's (formerly Leia's) success story
because we are so so so grateful for all of your help with this amazing
First off, I had zero intentions of getting a puppy when I went to your
adoption event; I was there because my friend wanted to look at a kitten,
but this little puppy ended up stealing my heart, and I knew she and I were
meant for each other!
Hushpuppy is the absolute sweetest, and she loves absolutely everyone she
meets! She is amazing with all small animals and lives with multiple cats
and rabbits and is so gentle with them. She loves adventures, digging,
wading in the water, chasing birds, and her best friend, a blind Husky!
Additionally, if anyone who adopted her Star Wars siblings is interested,
Hushpuppy is mostly a "Supermutt" (composed of hints of golden retriever,
Pekingese, cocker spaniel, and boxer) with percentages of chow, pit,
beagle, lab, rottweiler, American Eskimo dog, and German shepherd!
Again, I just wanted to say thank you for all you did to get Hush and her
siblings to a safe place and for getting this sweet dog to me; she is the
best girl, and I am incredibly lucky and grateful to have her.
A note of thanks for your and all involved in facilitating Jack's (formerly Jacque) adoption. From start to finish the process was thorough, thoughtful and everyone most helpful. Jack is a very sweet and well behaved puppy. He's settling in nicely and has made himself at home. He's bright and well behaved. He slept peacefully through the night on his special blanket without a whimper. (He did try really hard to convince us to allow him to sleep with us.) He seems to have a best friend in my partner, providing loving kisses and snuggling up with him. I'm happy to take on the role of nurturer.
A special thanks to his foster parents, as Jack is housebroken, He lets me know when he needs to go out, walks well on a leash and only had one accident in the house. He even knows a few commands. Pretty wonderful for a young puppy.
While Jack's had a rough start in life he's certainly been well cared for by Second Chance. We look forward to sharing our lives with Jack.
Thank you again for affording us this wonderful blessing, known as Jack.
Just a hello to let you know how wonderful Finn is doing in his new home! He loves his new home and his big brother Murphy. I've attached a video so you can see how much fun he is having! I thank you for bringing us together! Love Lisa and Finn
Love Me Tender
I just wanted to share my success story because I can't thank you enough for the best addition to our family. We adopted "Love me Tender" (now known as Ryleigh) on December 5th, 2015. I had just lost my first dog and as much as we were devastated, our other dog Taj was taking it harder. He was extremely lonely so we decided to adopt a new friend for him. It took a week of searching online across the state for a new companion, but the moment I saw Ryleigh I knew she'd be the perfect fit. We traveled two hours to Palm Beach Gardens to meet her and she was as great as we thought she'd be. The adoption process went smooth and then she was on her way home. She's been a blessing ever since. She has gone through obedience training, earned her AKC CGC title, and now is even starting to do tricks. Ryleigh loves everyone and is a favorite when going out in public to PetCo and Bass Pro. She has even sparked our dog Taj's interest in playing because he never showed interest in playing with other dogs before. Ryleigh is by far the sweetest girl and I just wanted to say thank you.

Your organization does wonderful work. We have been truly blessed by our addition
of Angelina (Angie). She is such a sweet thing and she and her older sister -who
was also a rescue from another organization in NY - are inseparable. We couldn't
love them more! Angie has been with us since February and we haven't stopped
smiling and laughing since with all her silly antics!
