Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Valli

We adopted Valli and Vidalia on April 14, 2012.

Since then we renamed them Abby and Roxy. Abby is all black and Roxy is brown and black. See attached picture of what they looked like when they were first adopted and what they look like a year later. We love them very much they both are sweet and have very nice personalities. Abby is more laid back than Roxy but she is very possessive of her toys and will bark at Roxy if she tries to get near her toys. They are both good watch dogs with deep loud barks that would scare any intruder.

Abby now weighs 90 pounds and Roxy weighs 80 pounds. They are very close sisters always laying near each other and playing together. We also have another dog, Kodi, a Siberian Husky who was an adult dog when we adopted the puppies. He was lonely so that is why we adopted the puppies so that he would have someone to play with. When we first brought the puppies home they were frightened of Kodi but now they are larger than he is and adore him so much that they will fight for his attention.
