Welcome to A Second Chance

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. Hello!

I just wanted to put a success story up about the puppy we adopted four months ago after seeing some of the success stories of his litter mates.

Hamilton, renamed Jasper, is doing great! He is mostly deaf, as I have read about a couple of his siblings, but he is such a smart dog. (It is interesting to know that at least some of his siblings are also deaf).

He is very visual because of his hearing deficit - he likes to watch tv! He is a handful but he is learning hand signals quickly. He is such a sweetheart. We love him so much.

He just turned 6 months old last week and he already weighs 50 pounds! I'm curious to know how big his litter mates are getting. Here are some pictures of him...
