Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. Hi Kathy! Yin (now known as Poppins) is doing fantastic. She's already potty trained and she's a great dog. My son sent in an application to volunteer and he never heard back. He would like to volunteer if you have any opportunity. Thanks,

Hi Kathy, Vina (now Bailey) is doing great! I attached some photos from today. She is growing like a weed and spoiled, spoiled spoiled :) we LOVE her so much! She has helped us so much with our home sickness as well (just moving from PA). Potty trianing is at almsot 100% Crate trianing is at 100%. As a matter of fact, her "bed" is in our room beside our bed. So when we say "night night time" she grabs her toy and in she goes :). She is so great! I cant tell you enough how much we love her! We are hoping to be able to plan a trip up to PA the first of the year, and cant wait to take her along! Thank you again soooo very much for her! She is treated like our kid and we look forward to a lifetime of love and fun with her! ~Kasey & JR~

Lucky

Hi Kathy Lucky who we now named "Huey" HUMPNER instead of Hugh Hefner is the Love of our Life. He is such a Good Boy! We named him Huey Bcuz #1 he has a Blk heart on the tip of his private & #2... he is so happy & he gets so excited that he HUMPS his favorite toy (a Mr Bill Toy) & he humps his crate pad that we have on the floor in the living room. Lol! Being that I own a Pet Rescue it just amazes me how unique & special each & every pet is.. And with Lucky/Huey I have never seen anything like him. We Love his personality.. However he is like a walking flasher.. One Day I was on the phone with my mom & he came streaking in front of the coffee table with it all hung out.. I thought I was going to die Lol. I told my husband if he does that when we bring him over to family & friends house I would really die ( of course in a joking way). My husband has made Huey his #1 pup and he thanks me every day for saving him & bringing him home after we both seen him at PetCo that day. Thank you again for checking in. I'm sure you all have missed lil Lucky / Baby Huey. We will make time to come visit with him so you can see how happy he truly is :) Thank you again & I will send pics & the video I took. The boys have adjusted well to their new home and their little brothers Alex & Joe, who do not leave them alone. I am very happy with the whole process of the adoption.

Ruth was very sweet and wonderful to deal with. I would recommend A Second Chance to anyone.
