Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Larry

Larry, now known as Quincey, is doing great!  He and his six year old sister are fast friends.  He copies everything she does, which has made the house training process much easier!

We are grateful for such a lovable little guy.

Little Grey

Hello, I wanted to share an update about Cuddles ("Little Grey"), the cat we adopted back in June. He is getting to be a very big kitty, 10 pounds now!!!! He is a little over 8 months old and he is extremely smart and funny. He sure loves to eat and cuddle, and play a lot. We are truly enjoying him!!!!! Thank you for everything!!!!

Luckie

Mia, formerly known as Luckie, is so cute and fun! She has learned to speak and sit. She is potty trained and kennel trained at bedtime and when we leave the house. She is so playful with our 2 boys that are 7 and 11. We just love her. She is a digger and a rock, dirt, stick eater! We have offered her alternative chew items, she just loves to bite and chew on natural items. She likes showers or baths and listens most of the time. She doesn't always come when called. She has a doggie door she learned to use and has a fenced in back yard.

Life is good. She is such a welcomed addition to our family. Our 11 year old says he feels so special now because he has a dog to care for. He also said he feels more responsible. Our boys do potty pick up daily without complaints! Once in a while I see them do "rock, paper, scissor" to see who has to wear the glove and pick up vs. who has to hold the bag. This puppy has brought our family even closer. So much joy and love is shared.

Thank you!

Livingston

This is my Mr. Miracle (formerly known as Livingston).  I met him where my community is.   His foster mom Barb brought him.  We connected right away.  I had to leave my dog behind when I moved into my own place. The thought of not having a dog was painful.  I said to Barb "He is mine!"  He came to me at a very stressful time in my life. This is how he got his name.

Thank you.

Lawson

Hello,

It has been a week since we have adopted Lawson, now known as Clyde, and we couldn't be happier.  Last October we had to say good bye to our 13 year old lab/shepherd mix and our house just hasn't been the same until now.  Clyde has brought joy back into our lives.  He is the sweetest little guy and we love him so much.

We drove 4 hours (one way) to adopt him and he was definitely worth the drive.   He has adapted very well to his new home and to us; that didn't take long.  He is a very active puppy and loves life.

Thank you to his foster family for taking such good care of him until he could be adopted.

Sincerely,

John, Brandi, and Clyde
