Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

We couldn't be more happy with Mocha! We love her tremendously! Thank you so much for bringing this amazing dog into our lives! Much love, peace an happiness The Konskers

Elvis
Elvis

Elvis is now named Jack. He is doing really well :) He was part of the family from the moment he entered the house! His two older sister dogs love playing with him and teaching him how to use the bathroom outside. He is really coming along with his training and has started to ask to go out. He goes to our family vet at Banfield and has been twice now for his puppy shots. He did test postive for hookworm so he is just finishing up his dewormer treatment. He is doing really well on his daily walks and loves to meet and greet people and other pets.

We have changed her name to Holly, she seems to like that! She is growing in leaps and bounds, and we can't wait until she is old enough to visit the dog park! Nancy and Rocco Arena

Petunia
Petunia

Hi Kathy, Petunia is doing wonderfully!! It's already hard to imagine what life was like before her. My husband and I adore her and we're inseparable. the only thing was I noticed when she runs that most of the time she really only runs on 3 legs so I took her to the vet they did an xray and found that her right hind leg is about a full inch shorter than her left hind leg. The vet says that it was either a birth defect or broken when she was a puppy. But her running on 3 legs is functional and not because she is in pain. The vet gave me something for her joint health when he says will help stave off arthritis. She has no idea something is wrong and she runs like the wind. She is a bundle of love and energy and joy. I may have adopted her, but she adopted me right back! Enjoy the pictures!

Boss
Boss

Maureen, I wanted to send you and updated picture of Boss. He definately has personality. These were taken at Christmas time. He has brought so much love and joy to our family. Boss has been diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia, only about 10% of the ball in the socket. He had TPO surgery on his right leg about 5 weeks ago and is doing well. It is hard to keep an active puppy kenneled for 10 weeks to heal. :) Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to adopt him. I will keep you updated as he gets older. We are going to test him for the therapy dog program. I think he will be really good at that. He just loves everyone.
