Animal Success Stories
As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story! Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Vegas
Hello Kathy,
I can't begin to tell you how happy we are to have Vegas in our life. We actually changed her name to Dolce after we adopted her. In the weeks we have had her with us we have been very active with her. First of all she gets along really well with her big sister, Mocha. They play all the time. It's so much fun to watch them run around together in the yard. We have also been training Dolce and she already knows 8 commands: sit, stay, down, shake, high 5, leave it, kiss, and go to bed. She's very smart and is picking up the commands quickly. Although we are still not done with the house training part.
She has also been very healthy. She got her last set of shots two weeks ago, so we have been taking her for walks around the block every day. We have also taken her to the dog park and she's a social butterfly. We even took her and Mocha to Bark at the Park to see the Marlin's game last week. It was so much fun and she behaved very well. Also, she just started to swim in the pool and she seems to like it as much as Mocha.
Overall, she's a great dog. She's becoming sweeter with us by the day and we think she's starting to feel part of the pack. We spend a lot of time with her and we couldn't be happier to have this little angel in our lives. We are very grateful to everyone at Second Chance Rescue for helping us find the perfect addition to our pack. Please see the pictures attached. I tried to put as many as I could that I felt were pretty reflective of the last month with Dolce.
Thanks again for doing what you do. Keep up the good work!!

Haddie
Dear A Second Chance Puppy and Kitten Rescue,
We just want to start this email by saying THANK YOU, you all are an extraordinary organization that brings happiness into homes from the love and joy of a pet. We changed her name Haddie became SADDIE the day we brought her home because my daughter kept calling her that instead and it has stuck with her, she comes and listens to it very well. As for how Saddie is adjusting to our family, well adjusting isn't the word LOL she is a huge PART of our family, even the cat loves her. She goes to school with us when we bring/drop-off my daughter, trip to visit my parents in St. Cloud, the beach, the park and just about everywhere we go she goes. She is so well behaved, wonderful with people, loves and adores my children, she follows them, lays with them, and runs outside playing ball with us every night after dinner. We love Saddie being a part of family and everyone Saddie greets they love her too. She is already potty trained, crate trained at night, learning how to play catch with a ball and Frisbee and knows how to come, sit, no, down, bye bye, up and we are working on shake. She has given us alot of joy, and we will continue to enjoy everyday with her, thanks to your organization. Here are some great pictures of Saddie for all of you to enjoy and AWWW over because she is definitely a AWWW puppy, she's the BEST my daughter says THE BEST PUPPY EVER!!! Thank you so much for all you did for Saddie, and letting us adopt her into our home, we are forever grateful!!!
Thank you all so much,
Fernando, Crystal, Kaley, and Kohl
Harmonee
Hi Kathy,
I am so sorry I feel like I have left you out of the loop. I have exchanged several e-mails and pictures with Terry. Harmonee is now Mylie and she is doing awesome, she just completed puppy school and is still going to puppy play time on Saturdays. She will start her next class in about 4-5 weeks. She loves going out on the boat and hanging out at the sandbar and going for rides to pick the kids up from school. I enclosed a picture for you to see how she is becoming such a big girl!! She has been a wonderful addition to our family.
Thanks for all you do, I will keep you posted...

Phelicia
Hi Kathy,
Well, Snuggles formerly known as Philecia, is doing great. She has adjusted very well. I don't think she was ever exposed to dogs before so we had a bit of a slow start in the beginning. Now her and the dog play and it's great. She has made herself right at home. She plays, eats (a lot...she's a starvin' marvin) and she loves the screened in back porch. She is finally getting groomed next Wednesday. It was too cold, i didn't have the heart to shave off all of her fur when it was so cold. She is very smart. She has learned her name already and comes when you call her (she runs to you because she thinks there is always food involved). Well, if you couldn't tell we love her and she's a keeper. Thanks for checking in on her.
Best Regards,
Debbi Chamblin
