Animal Success Stories
As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story! Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Zephyr
Dear Kathy:
Zephyr is a complete delight and we can't imagine our lives without him! He loves to be petted and is very loving. He has adjusted very well, and enjoys lounging on all the sofas in the house and on our beds.
We have adopted Mambo (my other cat) and Zephyr from you, and I'd like to take this opportunity to commend you on the fantastic work that you all are doing at Second Chance Rescue.
Regards,
Suruchi
Uletta
HEY KATHY...
I've been in contact with Lauren about Uno & Uletta...who are now D.O.G. and Dina. They're named after my first and favorite Dog (don't tell the others) Dino. Actually I've made a new friend in Lauren & have meet her sister-in-law (whose name I forget coz she looks like an Amy to me). She's Kathy also right??? Anyway, I've spoken to them about volunteering as an Adoption Counselor, I can't Foster because I now have 10 dogs/2 cats, and I'm the type who Fosters for life...lol. D.O.G. & Dina couldn't be anymore fabulous...unless they peed/pooped outside, stopped biting me with those puppy fangs...& stopped destuffing the pillows on my couch...lol. Typical puppys...lol. You do know why they make puppys so cute don't you???!!! Because no one would put up with their crap (literally and figuratively) if they weren't...lol. Seriously, they came in my house, with 8 other dogs, and adapted way quicker than I've seen in the past. D.O.G. is a typical 'boy" getting himself into trouble, and Dina is the sweetest lil' thing I've ever met. They fit in perfectly...so perfectly that they already sleep in the 'dog house' which is a 2 bed/1 bath guest house, a breeze-way from my house, without incident. I have to Thank-You for all you do for our 4 legged furry friends, I'm not going to buy a raffle ticket...I don't need a TV...but I'm more than happy to donate all I can for the great work you do. One last thing, I have spoken to Lauren about scheduling a 'play date' with Uhlalalala...the mom. I understand the foster mom is up in Port St Lucie, and I'm down here near Pet Smart...maybe one Saturday we can meet up for the afternoon??? Take care and thank you for the precious gifts of life you've given me the opportunity to raise.
LAURA
Xander
Dale,
I want to thank you for giving me the most precious gift. Cody is the most loving dog, well behaved to all people and listens to my every command (except when he see other dog he wants to play with and all bets are off!!). He's my light of my life. (I know, he was suppose to be my daughters dog...but he has made me his master since I'm the one who takes him to the beach, dog park, car rides and plays with him). The only sad thing is he is going to be a year old next month...it went by so fast!!
On another note, Sue said you might be able to help me with getting my daughter a volunteer job. For her Bas Mitzvah project she needs to give back to the community. Her first love would be to help take care of animals. If she could walk dogs, help with cleaning up after them, etc. that would be ideal. Do you have any ideas? Her big day is at the end of October so she really needs to get active.
Anyway, hope all is well. Again thanks for my baby. See attached picture.
Keller
Hello,
Keller is doing great. He is our baby boy and gets along well with Soffie our maltese. He has a daily routine. He sleeps with us, gets up about 7 am likes to go out to potty. Comes back in and goes to get daddy up by fussing at the bed. He wont's my husband to feed him at the same time. He meets you at the door when you come home, goes for walks and loves to play and roll around with Soffie. Sometimes you would think he could see. He is a BLESSING in our life and family and friends. Thank you, for checking on him and given him life. I will try to send pictures soon.
God Bless You.....
Thank you,
Kathy Pell
Gucci
Gucci is doing great, I named her Princess Leia because she looks like the Ewoks from Starwarz! She is growing more everyday and is now just over 7 lbs. She has adjusted well to her new kitty sisters and the 60lb dogs next door are her best friends. Everyone thinks she is the cutest, so she gets tons of love and attention.
Thanks for bringing us together, Heather
