Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Moe

I just want to follow up on MOE. He is doing GREAT!!!!! I will send pictures soon! He has adjusted to the house and the other two cats we have great!!!!!! They all play and its really nice because now our other 2 cats are more playful as well since Moe came home! I guess the only problem we had was that Moe had ringworm which went to the other 2 cats, their human daddy, and myself! But all is clearing up now and everyone is getting better! Like I said I will get pictures to you very very soon!!!!! Thank you for everything! Lauren Taylor

Candy
Candy

hi this is candy's adoptive mom. im glad i took her because she's a little special needs. she has flashbacks and cries and wets herself sometimes when you try to pick her up or you touch her wrong. or even bursh near her with a foot or broom. lately she's bneen very happpy and relxed , however, im going to put her on rescue remedy. or bockwort drops. you cannot chastise her for anything or she will fall apart, but she's pretty house trianed so i just don't bug her about it. she's also terrified of rainstorms. she and malinda are very, veryclose, they sleep together and play together. we're a happy home. Yours truly, Stephanie McQueen, Esq. McQueen Law Firm, P.A.

Chayun

Her new name is Gracie Sue, and as you can see, she loves her new home and her new big dog friends and her new foster puppy play buddy Tundra!

Quintessa
Quintessa

I have changed her name to Chelsea is doing fine. She is so wonderful she is crate trained now. We go to the dog parks 3 times a week. She is learning to swim. She is socialized and gets her excercise. She is so easy to train. I also have been back to PetSmart to see you guys so she could say hello. And when I am up there I will bring her by. Thank for such a wonderful dog keep nup the good work.

Hoops
Hoops

Dear friends at A second chance: I wanted to take some time today to tell you how wonderful my adoption experience has been. My puppy known to you as Hoops, is now called Max; he is 7 months old and has been with me and my family since he was 4 months old. He immediately became a best friend to the family and we knew we could never be apart again. He is extremely sweet, very playful, and a great friend. My father is diabetic, and Max has become his new walking buddy, together they take walks and help each other out. Max's favorite game is catch, he certainly loves running. He is very healthy, he came to us I believe with 20 pounds , but he is now around 43 pounds he is growing to be a big dog ;) Attached I have some pictures to show some good times with Max. I want to thank you for the labor that you do as a rescue league, please keep up the great work ;) Maria G. Perez
