Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Onxita
Onxita

Onxita is doing wonderful. Her new name is Bella and she is such a lovable pup. We are very satisfied with second chance and the new addition they let us add to our family. In the picture I attached is Bella with her new sister Jesse (who we also adopted from Second chance and was previously known as Jazzi) and her brother Dirty. Thank you, Christine

Dottie
Dottie

Kathy, Thank thank you we love our little girl. She has filled our house with such joy. My son Jonathan got Dottie for his 10th birthday. The best gift ever ! I will send pictures soon. Thanks again for all you do !!

Fiyero
Fiyero

Hi Kathy, Fiyero, now Cowboy, is doing great. He is the sweetest dog ever. He loves to run the property and seems to be quite comfortable rounding up the horses hence his new name. His stitches heeled up nicely from the neuter. He did have some type of strange bacteria in his urine that caused us some alarm. We have given him a series of antibiotics from the vet and he seems fine now. We would like to know exactly what shots he received in you're care and if he's due for any others. The vet seems to have lost his info from that time period. Thanks Jim

Pickles
Pickles

Hello Kathty Pickles is doing great! At first she was a little shy and she seemed sad to be away from home. Our other dog Shiloh was very hesitant to have pickles living with us. But they get along fine now and Pickles seems very happy. We love playing with her and she loves playing with us as well as Shiloh. We love her very much. Here are a few pictures.

Coutiere

hi kathy, well first, coutiere's new name is "abby", and second, she is an absolute joy! She is showered with attention and love and gives it back constantly. She adjusted instantly to her new home & is protective of it, by barking when strangers arrive. She is amazingly well behaved, by not chewing anything except her toys and food. We discovered how much she loves water, when she jumped in the lake, although we don't allow that anymore. (i think she understands). In the short time that we've had her, she has learned, sit, shake, lay down, home, and car(she loves the car!) We couldn't ask for a better companion to join our family, thank you so much, and i'm sure "abby" would thank you too. I hope the pictures came through. john
