Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Hi Everyone!!! I have a wonderful forever home with a mommie who really loves me AND have a pesky cat to tease! Boy I'm having so much fun!! I get to travel to way cool places and have my own suitcase of be-jeweled collars, hair bows and lots of toys. I've been back and forth to the Bahamas all summer, down to the Keys, and up to St Augustine (mommie wanted to see something called a lighthouse). My next adventure is really big -- the Tetons and Yellowstone National Park! I'm so excited. I'm so happy to have a forever home and someone who loves me soooo much. Thank you for putting me with my new mommie! Face licks and tail wags, Sophia

Luke

I wanted to send you and A Second Chance some photos of Luke with his new family. We all have fallen in love with him. His energy matches the kids and honestly, I don't know what it would be like without him. He sleeps in my son's room and keeps my daughter company when she's making art outside. He's gone to the beach, but is still wary of the pool. He is a great traveler and has accompanied us to visit friends and family. We really want to thank you and Second Chance for taking such good care of him. We've been telling our friends about the organization, but Luke is probably the best PR! Thank you again.

Palmer [on right] has been with us just about a month and he is starting to grow into his “big paws." Palmer has brought joy not only into our lives, but has become best friends with Pete, our 3 year old lab mix, who had been sad since April when our oldest dog passed away. Pete and Palmer love to run around the yard and play tug-o-war with their toys. After a long day, Palmer crashes on his NY Giants blanket and takes a nap on the couch.

Spanky

It's Spanky's new forever family here to say "Thanks very much" for our new addition!! He's such a great pup!! When we go for our daily walks, my 19-month old son always wants Spanky next to his stroller. They play and have so much fun!! Our three cats and Spanky are not sure about each other but I think time will make them good buddies!

Sobe

Hello! Everything is going pretty well. We've changed her name to Aggie (short for Agamemnon). We're definitely in the stubborn, rambunctious puppy stage...but we're working on housetraining and crate-training. She's loving it though, and is getting more and more accustomed to walking on a leash. We try to take her for a long walk her at least once a day, usually twice. She's met both mine and my girlfriend's cat (my girlfriend's cat is taking the addition much better) and niether instance has been horrible. She's also been to the dog park a couple times and seems to like it there, too. We're really happy with her and we think she's pretty happy, too!
