Animal Success Stories
As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story! Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Jette
Second Chance Rescue, Thank you for introducing Mako, formerly known, as
Jette to our family! She seemed so sad when we met her but knew she just
needed a good family to love and care for her. After adopting her we
took her to the vet and found out she had several health isssues (Mange,
ear mites, hookworms, and another type of worm that I can't pronounce).
But we're happy to announce after a few weeks of TLC she NOW has a clean
bill of health and is loving her new life with us! Second Chance
rescue is a first class organzation and I think you guys are doing a
fantastic job saving pets lives and finding them new homes. I would like
to do my part to help your organization and give back to the pet
community. I am one of the owners of Pawsch, Inc., America's Pet Store
to Your Door, which offers Free pet supply delivery and nutritional advice
to our clients. I have discussed your organization with my other partners
and we would like to offer every new Second Chance Rescue pet adopter a
$50.00 gift card for Pawsch pet food and supplies. By easing the
financial burden of the adoption process we hope that we can help Second
Chance Rescue find more pets more homes. Please let me know if Second
chance Rescue is interested in working with myself and Pawsch to create
and implement an Adoption Gift Card program for the holidays. Best
regards, Shawn Raba
Jackson
It's been almost three months since we adopted Jackson and he has firmly established himself as a part of the family. My wife is crazy about him and he is the hit of the dog park. I am sending you a few photos to show you how he is doing. Here"s the first, taken a few days after he came home when he was still tiny.
Alex
Alex is doing great. We love him so much. We've changed his name to crease because both my boys play lacrosse and we went through every school such as duke and Hopkins to name him. But, with all the little wrinkles(creases) he has on his head and that is the actual circle that surrounds the lacrosse goal... He became crease. If I can figure out how to send photos through my email on my iPhone, I will. Trust me he is spoiled and loving life!!
Thanks

Drahma
Drahma is now Leila, and she is a very happy girl who is getting bigger everday.
Leila is all settled in with us now. She loves the horses, her new dog friends, and meeting all the people that stop by the barn. She's a social butterfly, and that makes her a very tired puppy. You can find her every evening napping on the couch with us. She sleeps all through the night, and is very reluctant to get up in the morning, preferring to snuggle in bed with us.
She's a smart girl who's housetrained and knows come, sit, down and shake (we're still working on stay).
She's just perfect and we love her so much! Leila is such a character and she makes us laugh all day.
We actually ran into her brother Disco (now Riley) at Riverbridge. We're so happy her siblings found good homes, and we hope her mom is just as lucky.
Thank you,
Jessica, Yann, and Leila
Peanut-Butter
Hi,
Peanut Butter is now named Zoey. She is doing fantastic and our whole family loves her. We have 2 boys, 11yrs old and 8yrs old. Everyone is doing a great job taking care of her and cleaning up after her in and outside. She has been a wonderful addition to our family.
Thank you Second Chance for all you do to help these animals.
