Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Fenway
Fenway

Fenway is doing just terrific and is a cheerished member of our family after the old aged death of our former companion, Mollie, who was with us for 13 years. He has fitted in so well, it's almost like he has always been with us. He likes his walks, we go to the beach, he puts on his life vest and we go for rides in our little boat. He is loving, fun and committed to us. Thank you for letting us all have a Second Chance at life................it's a perfect fit.

Kicker
Kicker

I was actually going to write something that you could post on your site under success stories, and give you a picture. We couldn't be happier with Kicker, who we have renamed Shula. He is almost four months old now, and he is just a typical happy puppy. He is into EVERYTHING, and has to be watched all the time to keep him out of trouble! He loves playing ball in the yard, tug of war with his toys, doing yard work with my husband, and torturing our cat, who just doesn't understand yet that he is just playing. He likes to play with my brother's full grown labs, and they treat him surprisingly gently, considering the size difference. He is doing pretty well at picking up the whole housebreaking thing, though he does have an accident here and there. But we love him no matter what. This is my second adoption through A Second Chance, and I think your organization is absolutely wonderful. I would recommend you to anyone looking to adopt an animal. I'm going to send some pictures soon so you can see how well he is doing.

Major
Major

Hello Kathy, We have renamed "Major" to Rexx and Thank You, he is adjusting very well. He has grown so much and must be about 25 lbs now! He eats like a horse! We think he may have some Dane in him because his legs are so long for his still puppy body... He gets along well with our Dal and they play and luckily we haven't had any fighting yet. We do have one issue with him eating his feces and tried medication but it only worked for a couple of days so if you have any suggestions all are of course welcome. It is very difficult with a fenced in yard to scoop every bit of it away and he runs pretty fast now. We are working on behaviour modification and possibly that may take hold sooner than later hopefully. Attached are some pictures taken a couple of weeks ago before his most recent growth spurt. Thank You for inquiring. Christine and Paul

Frissy
Frissy

Her name is now Harley. Since I spoke with the trainer there have been no accidents in the house. No problems at all that I can think of. She likes hanging out in her cage, even when the door is open. Merry Christmas. Thanks for everything. John

Holli
Holli

Hi Kathy, Our little Holli is adorable and doing fine. She has grown from a puppy to a very determined little dog and a puppy still. I have attached a video of Holli. Hope your computer plays it. She has her pink jacket on since it has been cold lately and she does not like it at all! She has very much energy and likes to play a lot..we take long walks out and she has met a lot of other dogs. She has also met Margee's dogs which was her first social event and all the dogs played nice. Happy Holidays to you! Riikka and Jim
