Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Visa
Visa

Luna (aka Visa) is doing great. She seems to like her new home as well as the neighbors and especially the park and all the new dog friends she's met there. They are all much older and bigger then her, but she gives them a good workout. She plays well with all the other dogs, but some of the older ones find her annoying. She's adapted well. She's 16 lbs now, much longer and taller. Will send pictures soon. Take care.

Urma
Urma

Urma, now Daisy, is doing great! She is a wonderful addition to our family and while I may be biased, she is so smart and learning more and more each day. She is apx. 14 weeks, has her second vet visit this Saturday and has attended one obedience class. She loves the kids and is getting more confident around the 2 cats each day. Little do these large cats know, she will one day tower over them. Also, while I am thinking of it, I keep forgetting to register her chip. I would like to do that now but considering I am at work I do not have the number or web site. Is that something you can email me? Thanks for checking in, Lynn Williams

Artex

March 2011 Update: Hello - I am writing to thank you again for our boy. We adopted Gordon "Artex" last September and wanted to send you a current photo. He has such an amazing personality and we couldn't love him more! Thank you for the work that you do. Pegi

Good morning and thank you for checking in. Artex, now known as "Gordon" is enjoying life as he knows it. He has taken over our little world. He is so smart and so destructive. I forgot what it was like have a 2 year old boy in the house. We couldn't happier to have him. I am attaching a few photos. He's hard to photograph because he's never still. He even runs in his sleep. I also want to thank you for the referral to Dr. Fox. He treated my old dog and Gordon's kitten, Jack. Please feel free to check in any time. I'm sorry for the late response, but your email was dumped into my spam folder. Have a wonderful day. Pegi Wagner

Taglit
Taglit

Hi! I apologize for the delay in getting back you about how we are doing with taglit as a new addition to our family. She is amazing! We are having so much fun with her, and she is learning new tricks and skills everyday. We spoil her rotten with toys and our time, but we are also working hard on making sure that she is well behaved and safe. We enrolled her in puppy classes, and she is doing well. We are all learning a lot and having a good time. We couldn't imagine our lives without her. I will send some pictures as soon as i get them uploaded to the computer. Thanks again for this amazing opportunity and for your wonderful organization Sara Tylukti.

Fancy

Hi Shelly! We wanted to give you an update on our new baby "Fancy" AKA "Kina" (key-na). She is doing very well and growing very fast! She is already walking on a leash and is doing well with potty training. She goes to the door and cries when she needs to go out. She's so smart! We are also crate training her. The first night she cried a lot and we were up several times to take her out. Now she sleeps throughout the night without making a peep! She gets along very well with her new big sister, Bella :) They play ALL day long. Kina always gets out of her bed and goes to lay with Bella in her bed....it's really cute! She loves her toys and Nylabone and she has not chewed up ONE thing of ours (although we do have to watch her like a hawk LOL)! She is the perfect addition to our family. We love her very much already! Thank you so much for letting us adopt your baby. I attached some pics... enjoy! Email us any time :). We plan to visit Petsmart soon (hopefully when you are there). Sincerely, Amy and Erick
