Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Yasmin

Roxy (aka Yazmin) is such a great puppy. She was well trained before getting her. I also became friends with her foster mom on Facebook. We have talked about getting her together with one of her brothers Yale (now Bo).

I loved the adoption process. Everyone was so nice. I speak highly of you all and tell everyone about A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue. The love you gave to all these cats and dogs is simply amazing. Thank you for that.

Roxy is so lovable. The way she sleeps cracks me up on a daily basis. She does so well with the create training. She listens very well. We all adore her and are so glad to have gotten her from A Second Chance Rescue. If we would get another dog we would definitely do it again with you. As of now we are good with our two.

Thanks for everything. I am very proud to have adopted her and sometimes feel like a spokesperson for you guys.

Yasmine

Just wanted to let you all know we had a DNA test done on Yasmine (now known as Sasha) to find out what breed she was mixed with and you'll never will guess what came back. She is 50% German Shepard, 25% Shiba Inu and 25% Boston Terrier! CRAZY!!!

I would love to share this information with her brothers and sisters by sending you guys this e-mail.

We are so happy with her. She is a very smart and loving dog. I have attached some photos for you.

Thanks again.

Yelena

It has been just a little over two months since I have adopted Yelena. I just wanted you to know how wonderful she is doing. When I adopted her she weighed 25 lbs, and today she weighs in at 46.1 lbs. As you can see by the picture I sent you she has it sooooo rough doesn't she?

She got so big so fast. I swear she just grows overnight. She ran by the back window out in the yard this morning and I barely reconized her. She has been such a good girl and she makes me laugh all the time with the little puppy things she does. She is still going on her 3 mile powerwalks with me, her new thing is going fishing with all our friends down on the intercoastal and the beach. She plays great with other dogs, she loves to play in the water with her waterballs and sticks. She is learning how to catch a frisbee, she knows McDonalds drive thru window (LOL) and she loves riding in the rag top jeep with her mommy. Oh yes, did I mention she loves to sleep between Mom and Dad at night too?

Anyway, I just wanted you to know that she is loved very, very, much and that we are all doing great. I hope all is well with you and I'll continue to keep in touch and send you an even bigger Yelena picture next time.

Take care for now,

Kimberly, Jeff, Yelena, and Charlie (the cat).
