Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Oreo is doing great. He gets along with Suzie, the cat. We love him more each day. Thanks for following up. Bea Super

Otis

Hi Ruth: This is such a coincidence, I was just telling a friend about A Second Chance this morning! Otis is the best dog, we love him so much! He is healthy, active and loves to play. He is also very smart and protective. Our family often talks about the way he came to us and how perfect he fit into our lives. Do you remember bringing me & my husband to your home to meet him? We tell that story to our daughters while Otis is curled in bed with them. We often wonder about his sisters, do you have any information about them or pictures that you could share? I've attached some pictures. Thank you again for introducing us to the best dog ever! Meredith

Olive
Olive

Hey how are you doing? I decided to name Olive "Dizzy" since she can't seem to get her legs to coordinated together correctly. She's hilarious some times when she tries to sit and falls backwards or doesn't stop soon enough and runs into me. I love this dog to death and I know she feels the same. We are still potty training, I know she has figured out that going outside is good but she doesn't know yet that going inside is bad. As I said we live on 25 acres and we go on a walk through the woods every day around 4. You can tell her curiosity is growing with her sense of smell and she is becoming more aware every day of the world around her but she still never leaves my side. I know this dog is smart, you can tell by how fast she is learning despite her being over excited most of the time. In the pictures you will see she has a big brother (Broozer) that she is out growing everyday. She loves to wrestle with him all day even if hes not interested in wrestling and she just learned how to get up on the couch so now he has nowhere to hide. She has one more shot that the Vet will call me for. He said shes very healthy. I can't thank you enough this whole experience has completely open my eyes to the work you and other like you do. Take care, Brannon

Opal

Lola (formerly Opal) is enjoying her first Halloween as a Ladybug. She is growing sooooo much that an x-large was a bit small. She also got Halloween dog biscuits & a toy she destroyed within an hour...lol. She has a special place in our family & in our hearts. Thanks so much for allowing us to give her home where there is a lot of love to give to her.

Christina
